Twice, i have gone on line and went to book ferry and when i went to pay it timed out. Went back in and the fares increased (pissed) but had to book it. After about 10 mins or so i went back on line to check fares again for some reason and went back down to original price. i was livid. This has happened to me twice.

Have not yet received an answer from BC Ferries!

My call was to ask what BC Ferries policy is on passengers bringing snakes into the cafeteria area of the ferry.

They took my "membership" money. They asked me if I could wait. I said yes. They immediately terminated the CHAT on me.

I have a question regarding an incident on The Queen of Alberni on Feb 6/24 on the 12:45 sailing.

While standing in the cafeteria lineup we noticed a young woman ahead of us with a large snake on her shoulders and neck. Since all three people in my party are extremely afraid of snakes it is safe to say that we were extremely concerned by this!

After we sat down the party with the snake sat a short distance from us.

Needless to say we were quite uncomfortable! A crew member did speak to them briefly but they remained seated with the snake on the young womans lap! I guess my question or concern is quite obvious!

I have always been led to believe that with the exception of service dogs, all animals must remain in the car deck area! I look forward to your response on this matter!

Thank You

Patrick Rusk

Persistent problem with online bookings payment verification

I have a persistent and serious problem when booking online, a function essential to my frequent travel for work. Difficulties have only emerged recently, possibly around the same time as the introduction of the 3-D security process.

When I reach the "payment" stage I am immediately confronted with a 2SV page from TD-Visa or occasionally CIBC. I never receive the promised codes from any of the three banks controlling my credit cards, yet there is no problem with transactions with other entities (airlines, hotels, etc) nor with these cards in general.

Your web-page describing the new 3-D procedure says any problems should be discussed with our card-issuing banks. I have done this tonight with TD-Visa, and earlier with CIBC.

They both claim everything from their end is fine, cannot shed any further light on the problem and both claim it lies within the BCF system. I'm at my wits end; could you please check this out?

Hello,

I booked and payed for ferry tickets in full ($342.30) May 16h, 2023. The BEF# are: Vancouver Tsawwassen to Nanaimo (Duke Point): B23276**** & Nanaimo (Duke Point) to Vancouver Tsawwassen: B23276****.

However, upon arrival at Nanaimo (Duke point) July 28th, after waiting in line beyond the schedule ferry departure time, I went and asked one of your stuff members what the hold up is. Only then I was informed that the ferry is broken and that there will be no sailing that day from Nanaimo Duke point. We were also informed that we will receive a full refund because of this. However, I haven't received any refund from BC ferries to date (August 21, 2023).

Instead I had to purchase another ticket (value: $163.65) that same day and had to wait for over 4 hours despite my previous reservation hoping to be able to get on the last ferry from Nanaimo to Vancouver Horseshoe Bay.

Needless to say that I am extremely disappointed that I wasn't informed by BC ferries about the ferry cancellation and that I still haven't received my refund. I request an immediate refund to my credit card!

Unhappy

I cannot believe that a government owned entity in Canada that is servicing millions of Canadians. Has the gull to have a contract with an American company Starbucks. Is there no Canadian company that could offer that same service, is so shameful? It is not a wonder that B. C. Ferries operations has such a dismal approval rating

Ticket

I received a ticket for over parking blocking a walkway. But I had already phoned and spoke with BC Ferries about my vehicle had the transmission blow on the truck. I could only use reverse and I could not push the vehicle ahead any as it was very heavy. But I received a 80 dollar ticket.

BC Ferries - No refund for not redeemed booking - after staff assured us of refund
Hello, We had a booking on July 8th at 4.30 pm. Sadly our car rental fell through and we had to buy new tickets as walk ons. The employee at the check in office said we could not change our ticket and that we had to buy new tickets as we did not have a car. He assured as that we would only loose our reservation fee and the rest of the amount of the original booking ($55.60) would be paid back. Sadly on 7/16/2023 I received an email that nothing would be refunded. After informing the customer service and asking for clarification I received no response.

Technical fustration with booking online.

Two things: In recent weeks multiple-step verification keeps popping up when booking online. This was never the case in my previous experience. I do realize this is a security feature because of potential fraud, but it is frustrating is because Galiano Island cell-phone coverage is fragile at best: codes do not come through at all or are delayed an inordinate amount of time. I wish they could be sent via email instead, or as well.
